traffic accident - Motorcycle rider falls down ramp - heavily injured

A motorcycle rider fell several meters deep into a ditch in the Landkreis Gießen and was severely injured. The 30-year-old is said to have lost control on the wet road of the Bundesstraße between Schotten and Laubach, according to the Mittelhessen Police Presidium.

A rescue helicopter transported the man to the hospital after the accident on Sunday. During the rescue and recovery work, the Bundesstraße was closed for approximately an hour.

The motorcycle rider's accident occurred in the Gießen District, specifically on the Bundesstraße in Middle Hesse, near the towns of Schotten and Laubach. Despite careful traffic management, the damp road conditions may have contributed to the vehicle's slippery surface, leading to the rider losing control. Regrettably, similar accidents have happened on this slope, underscoring the need for heedful traffic conduct in the area.
