A Motorcycle rider was critically injured in a collision with a transporter on the A38 near Großwechsungen (Landkreis Nordhausen), and later died in the hospital. According to the police, the 43-year-old motorcyclist was riding behind the transporter of a 30-year-old at afternoon on a Tuesday. While overtaking the transporter, the driver also attempted to overtake. During this maneuver, they collided, causing the motorcyclist to come off the road and hit the guardrail. He fell and sustained life-threatening injuries. The biker died in the hospital.
The driver of the transporter remained unharmed. Due to the accident, the A38 towards Leipzig was closed for approximately five hours.
