A 64-year-old motorcyclist died after a collision with a small transit van between Bergtheim and Opferbaum (Würzburg district). The 28-year-old van driver had likely not seen the biker on the B19 when he tried to join the highway, according to the police. The 64-year-old lost control and was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later died there. The prosecutor appointed an expert to determine the cause of the accident, the police added.

  3. In response to the accident, the Bavarian police launched an investigation, determining that the van driver may not have seen the motorcyclist before trying to merge onto the highway.
  4. Following the fatal collision, a police report was filed, and the prosecutor enlisted the help of an expert to analyze the circumstances leading up to the accident.
