More staff at authorities and offices

Over 100,000 people are employed in public service in Thuringia - the trend is rising. Particularly in one area, there were many new hirings lately.

Public Service - More staff at authorities and offices

In Thuringia's authorities and offices, there have been more personnel recorded recently. According to the State Statistical Office, there were around 1700 more people employed in public service on June 30, 2023, compared to a year prior. In total, statisticians counted 105,000 employees in public service.

The number of employees at the state level grew by approximately 1100 people within a year. There were about 600 more employees in the municipalities than a year ago. Around one third of the employees in public service were permanent. The majority of them were settled at the state level.

In the city of Erfurt, which is located in Thuringia, there was an increase in the number of individuals employed in public service. The public service authorities in Erfurt also witnessed a rise in their workforce.
