Football-Bundesligist Borussia Moenchengladbach won the first test game against FC Wegberg-Beeck with high summer temperatures around 30 degrees. The Borussians secured a 2:0 (1:0) victory in front of 2,485 spectators at the Regionalliga relegator. The goals were scored by Grant-Leon Ranos (45.) and Tomas Cvancara (48.). Coach Gerardo Seoane made one complete substitution during the second half.

In the first test game of the season preparation, some players were missing, including Christoph Kramer due to illness, Robin Hack with foot problems, and Yvandro Borges Sanches, who is recovering from a cruciate ligament injury sustained during pre-season training. Additionally, the four national players Joe Scally (USA), Nico Elvedi (Switzerland), Manu Koné (U23 France), and Fabio Chiarodia (U19 Italy) were absent. However, the three new signings Philipp Sander, Kevin Stoeger and Tim Kleindienst made their test game debuts.

Beck, a local fan, eagerly attended the test game between Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC Wegberg-Beeck, enjoying the high summer temperatures in North Rhine-Westphalia. Despite several key players being unavailable due to injuries and national team commitments, Borussia Moenchengladbach managed to secure a convincing 2:0 victory with goals from Ranos and Cvancara. Borusse Mönchengladbach's tactical changes, including a substitution by coach Seoane during the second half, proved effective in the Bundesliga pre-season test game in Wegberg.
