Culture - Michael Patrick Kelly's concerts cancelled due to illness
Two concerts of singer Michael Patrick Kelly ("Beautiful Madness") in South Germany have been suddenly cancelled due to the artist's illness. The 46-year-old was scheduled to perform in the evening at the Baroque Garden of the Festspielhaus Neuschwanstein, and a concert was planned for Saturday at the Zeltspektakel in Winterbach, Baden-Württemberg.
"Unfortunately, we have to cancel Michael Patrick Kelly's concert in Füssen today due to illness", the organizer Allgäu Concerts announced on Facebook in the late afternoon. "We wish Michael Patrick Kelly a good and speedy recovery!"
The organizers in Winterbach also reported on Facebook about sudden high fever spikes in Kelly, making it impossible for the musician to perform a multi-hour live show vocally or physically. "Cancelling live concerts is the worst thing for me. These moments with you all mean so much to me", was quoted from Kelly. "It breaks my heart for you, who wanted to come to the shows in Füssen and Winterbach."
The police in Füssen feared that due to the sudden cancellation, numerous fans who had not been informed of this development would still travel to Füssen and cause traffic chaos. "The Füssen police ask all ticket holders to refrain from traveling to the event location", the officers reported.
