According to initial findings, the fight between the two men escalated on a Tuesday, causing the 24-year-old to pull out a knife, as the police reported. After the incident, the suspect reportedly fled the scene. Witness reports suggest that he was seen running through the city with a bloody knife. He was later apprehended by response units.

The 41-year-old had to be treated intensively in the hospital. He was still in stationary care on a Wednesday. The doctors described his condition as stable.

The investigations into the background of the fight between the 41-year-old and the 24-year-old Somali national, against whom a warrant was issued, are ongoing, according to the police.

The fight between the men is said to have begun on a Bonn tram. Both were reportedly expelled from the tram and went on to the later scene of the crime at the Bus Station.
