Massage studios in three federal states searched
Investigators are conducting raids on massage studios in several federal states. They are allegedly employing Chinese women who have entered the country illegally and whose plight is being exploited for prostitution. However, this is not the only allegation.
Investigators have raided massage studios in three federal states on suspicion of human trafficking. Several studios in Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria and Hesse were affected, according to the main customs office in Singen and the public prosecutor's office in Constance.
In addition to human trafficking, the operators are accused of smuggling in foreigners, embezzlement of wages, forgery of documents and tax evasion in particularly serious cases. The studios allegedly employed women from China who were staying in Germany illegally.
It is being investigated whether their personal and economic predicaments were exploited for prostitution. Almost 270 officers were deployed during the search on Tuesday.
The alleged human trafficking and prostitution case extends beyond Baden-Württemberg, with investigations also taking place in neighboring Bavaria and Hesse. This international crime extends beyond German borders, making it a concern for the German Police force. The International Police, cooperating with their German counterparts, are bringing all available resources to tackle this complex web of crime, including smuggling, embezzlement, document forgery, and tax evasion.
