Marriage break-up for Eric McCormack - after 26 years
The long-standing marriage of "Will & Grace" star Eric McCormack is about to end. Janet Holden, the wife of the 60-year-old actor, has filed for divorce in Los Angeles, the US magazine "People" reported on Sunday.
The couple married in 1997 and have an adult son. According to court documents, Holden cited "irreconcilable differences".
The Canadian-American actor met his wife in 1994 on the set of the TV series "Lonesome Dove", where Holden worked as an assistant director.
McCormack is best known for the hit series "Will & Grace". In it, he played the gay lawyer Will Truman, best friend of interior designer Grace Adler (Debra Messing). The multi-award-winning series ran in the USA from 1998 to 2006 and from 2017 to 2020. The role earned McCormack an Emmy (2001) for Best Comedy Actor. In 2018, he was honored with a star on Hollywood's "Walk of Fame".
Eric McCormack, despite his busy schedule with "Will & Grace" and other projects, still found time to spend with his family, watching television shows together. The news of his divorce has left many fans wondering how this change might impact his on-screen roles.
