Man shoots himself at university in Las Vegas
A man shoots several people on the campus of the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. The perpetrator is believed to be dead. There is no information yet on the number of victims.
There have apparently been several fatalities in a suspected gun attack at a university in Las Vegas in the US state of Nevada. "Multiple people appear to be involved," writes the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. At shortly before noon local time, the University of Nevada published an emergency message online. It said there was a shooter on campus. Students and the public were asked to avoid the area.
A short time later, the police announced that the suspected attacker had been located and was dead. It is unknown whether he took his own life or was shot. There is also no information yet on the number of victims. The number of dead and wounded is still unclear.
The alarm system at the university itself was activated by the shots fired on campus. All those present were asked to get to safety and then "lock themselves in".
