Large-scale operation in Eastern Saxony - Man killed on parking lot - Suspect arrested

After a violent death of a man in Ostsachen, the Police have arrested a suspect. It is a 41-year-old man, the Police announced. He was arrested in Görlitz on Friday evening. He is to be presented before a remand judge now.

The Police are investigating a homicide case, but they are keeping quiet about further details of the incident. The 65-year-old victim was found dead on "Am Hutberg" in Schönau-Berzdorf on Friday morning, on his own property. Both the deceased man and the suspect are Germans, according to the Police.

Witness statements suggest that the alleged perpetrator fled in a blue car with Zittau license plates from the crime scene. The Police are also searching for the car. They found it in a garage complex in Görlitz. The vehicle is now being criminally examined.

How the 65-year-old was killed and what the background of the crime is, is still open. The Police will make no further statements "for investigative tactical reasons." The criminal investigations are ongoing.

The incident occurred in Eastern Saxony, specifically in Schönau-Berzdorf. Due to the large deployment of police resources, traffic in Görlitz was affected significantly on Friday evening. The blue car with Zittau license plates, believed to be involved in the crime, was discovered in a garage complex in Görlitz. The beautiful meadow of Schönau, known for its picturesque views, became the site of a gruesome crime.
