Man convicted of murdering 19-year-old girl
In March, a 19-year-old girl in Lower Saxony is raped and murdered on the fringes of a birthday party. A 20-year-old is now sentenced to many years in prison. The court also found him guilty in another case.
Nine months after the rape and murder of a 19-year-old woman in Bramsche, Lower Saxony, the Osnabrück Regional Court has sentenced a young man to nine years' imprisonment. The court also found the man guilty of a further rape, which he allegedly committed as a teenager, the court announced.
Due to the defendant's young age at the time, the trial was held in camera. At the time of the crime in Bramsche at the beginning of March, however, he was already 20 years old, it was said. He was arrested shortly afterwards.
The 19-year-old victim had attended a birthday party in the Schützenhalle in Bramsche and was discovered lifeless by other guests in a nearby meadow. Resuscitation attempts by rescuers were in vain and the young woman died. The verdict of the regional court is not yet final.
