With drugs in their backpack, a 35-year-old motorcycle rider and his equally aged companion fled from the police in Osnabrück. When the police wanted to control the two, the driver took off and ran through several red traffic lights at increased speed, according to a police spokesperson.

After an accident, the two allegedly fled on foot and were arrested. The lightly injured 35-year-old was first taken to a hospital. After discovering the backpack with tranquilizers in it, investigators searched the suspects' apartment in North Rhine-Westphalia.
