accident on A70 - Lkw-Driver will be liable for: 50,000 Euro damage

At a truck-accident near Stadelhofen (Landkreis Bamberg), damage of approximately 50,000 Euro has occurred. No one was injured, the police reported. A 50-year-old truck driver had reportedly fallen asleep at the wheel during his break - this caused the truck to come off the road. It then slid along the median strip for about 200 meters.

The tractor-trailer had to be recovered and the road cleaned up according to the police. The police are now investigating due to the endangerment of road traffic due to physical impairments.

The accident occurred in the Bamberg District, which is part of Upper Franconia in Bavaria. The Bamberg District Police are actively investigating the incident, as the truck driver's alleged sleepiness during a break potentially endangered other road users. Subsequently, the clean-up and retrieval of the damaged tractor-trailer became necessary, adding to the costs, which unfortunately reached around 50,000 Euro.
