Attack of anger? - Lifelong sentence for attempted murder of ex-wife

The many heavy stab wounds inflicted by a man on his nearly defenceless Ex-Wife are considered attempted murder by the Aschaffenburg Regional Court. The 39-year-old man was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Grand Chamber, as the Court Spokeswoman stated after the verdict. The crime was described as sneaky and motivated by base reasons. The Court followed the demands of the Prosecution and Plaintiff to a large extent.

The defendant's behavior towards his family, his image of women, and his understanding of the rule of law, as well as the unjustified massive violence, were unbearable and in no way acceptable, according to the Chamber.

The defense argued for attempted manslaughter and requested ten and a half years of imprisonment. The verdict is not yet final.

The Prosecution was convinced that the Somalian wanted to take revenge on his Ex because she had separated from him. The man held the victim responsible for his own poorly perceived life. He was full of resentment and envy that his Ex was happy with their three common children, while he lived on the street, according to the indictment.

The defendant admitted the crime at the beginning of the trial on July 9, but did not explain his motives.

The victim, a six-time Mother, had survived the attack of her Ex-Husband in the inner city of Aschaffenburg in January with severe injuries. Her face and upper body of the 36-year-old are covered in scars ever since.
