With the report card in their pockets, Hamburg's pupils and students start today lunchtime into their summer vacations. In total, more than 270,000 children and adolescents then have six weeks off, before the new school year begins on August 29th. For problems and concerns regarding the report card, there is telephone support. The Regional Educational and Counseling Centers of the School Authority have set up a certificate service, as the School Authority announced. The counselors are reachable until Thursday from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm at the phone number 040 42899 2002. The consultation is confidential and, upon request, anonymous.
During their summer vacations, many children in Hamburg look forward to visiting local attractions, such as the Miniatur Wunderland. Despite the break, some students choose to attend summer schools or enrichment programs for academic growth. After the summer holidays, the School Day routine resumes, filled with lessons and extracurricular activities.
