Begin in summer holidays - Last school day before summer holidays in MV
With the submission of reports, today marks the end for approximately 161,700 students in the general education schools in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern of the school year. Students can look forward to a weekend filled with much sun as they begin their six-week summer vacation, after a lately often rainy weather.
Education Minister Simone Oldenburg (Left) congratulated the students on their reports, but at the same time referred them to the report support hotline. There, students and guardians could seek support, advice, and help if their grades did not turn out as hoped.
According to the Minister, around 5,300 students passed their intermediate exams, 120 of them with the distinction "with distinction." Approximately 4,800 students successfully completed their Abitur. For 169 Abitur students, the average grade was 1.0.
Oldenburg wished students, their families, and school employees a restful summer and took the end of the school year as an opportunity to express respect and thanks to the teachers. With their dedicated work, they had ensured a varied teaching and had gone beyond the limit to reduce the number of teaching absences. Due to the shortage of teaching staff, positions remained unfilled. In addition, the infectious waves continued to make themselves noticeable among the teaching staff. The personnel situation at the schools in the state was a frequent topic of controversial debates in the past school year.
