Kitas and School - Landscape associations calculate admission costs for all their museums

Landscape associations LWL and LVR will cover transportation costs starting August 1st for kindergarten and school trips to their museums and cultural institutions nationwide. The mobility fund, which has existed for several years, has been expanded and will cover trips to museums in Rhineland and Westphalia, as stated in a press release.

Over 60 institutions are eligible for funding through the mobility fund. This means that kindergarten groups or schools, regardless of their location, can visit numerous industrial museums, open-air museums in Detmold, Hagen, Kommern, and Lindlar for free upon request.

In the past, funds have not been sufficient to grant all applications. Therefore, they have been significantly increased. The Landschaftsverband Rheinland (LVR) has provided the fund with 500,000 euros, and 450,000 euros are available in the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL).

The offer aims to promote cultural participation

Travel costs to Archaeological Park Xanten of LVR along with the Roman Museum and the Natural History Museum of LWL with its planetarium will be covered, as well as travel to a multitude of memorial sites and some partner museums.

Covered will be travel costs with public transportation or a touring bus if the institution is otherwise hard to reach. The entrance to institutions under the management of Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) and Landschaftsverband Rheinland (LVR) is free for people under 18 years old anyway. With this offer, the cultural officials of the associations want to enable cultural participation and broaden the offer as much as possible.

  1. Starting August 1st, kindergartens in North Rhine-Westphalia can apply for funds from the Landscape Association Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) and Landschaftsverband Rheinland (LVR) to cover Fare costs for school trips to their museums and cultural institutions throughout Germany.
  2. This expanded mobility fund, which includes kindergartens and schools in Münster (Önster in older German Orthography) - a city in northwestern Germany, will cover trips to museums in the Rhineland and Westphalia regions.
  3. With over 60 eligible institutions, including industrial museums and open-air museums in Detmold, Hagen, Kommern, and Lindlar, kindergarten groups and schools can visit these attractions for free upon request, thanks to the expanded mobility fund.
  4. Children under 18 will not only have their travel costs covered, but they will also gain free entry to various cultural institutions under the management of Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) and Landschaftsverband Rheinland (LVR).
  5. This initiative aims to promote leisure activities and foster cultural participation, encouraging children to explore museums in Cologne and other partner museums, as well as visit memorial sites, thanks to the covered transportation costs.
  6. If necessary, public transportation or a touring bus will be provided for institutions that are otherwise challenging to reach, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate in this educational and culturally enriching school trip experience.
