America Tour - Kristensen of Eintracht expects a strong season
Rasmus Kristensen is filled with excitement for Eintracht Frankfurt's new Bundesliga season after his first training session with new teammates. "I was naturally eager. They're great guys, I've been welcomed well and I believe it's going to be a great year," said the Danish defender to Eintracht-TV after the session in Louisville, Kentucky.
The Bundesliga club is currently on an America tour and is making a stop in Kentucky. Coach Dino Toppmöller had all but the slightly lighter training Oscar Højlund and Aurèle Amenda present on the first training day.
Kristensen was already mixing well in. "It's always nice to be on the pitch. Now things are finally getting started. We're playing football and that's always nice," said the EM participant. After the vacation, he's already in good shape. "Now football comes into play. Then I'll be ready in the next few days," said the newcomer.
At the Hessen, he took over the number 13, which Martin Hinteregger had worn for Eintracht. "I didn't know that. What a player with a super career. It's an honor for me. Now I have to live up to it," said Kristensen.
On Wednesday evening (local time), he flies with the team to Texas, where the first test game of the tour takes place on Thursday evening (local time) against FC Juárez in Ciudad Juárez. German kick-off time is 3.30 am on Friday morning.
Rasmus Kristensen expressed his anticipation for the upcoming Bundesliga season with Eintracht Frankfurt, even while in the United States of America for a pre-season tour. Despite missing a few teammates like Oscar Højlund and Aurèle Amenda, he felt at ease during their training session in Louisville, Kentucky. Kristensen is excited to represent Eintracht Frankfurt, having taken over the number 13 jersey previously worn by Martin Hinteregger, a respected player with a stellar career in Hesse. The team is set to continue their tour in Texas, playing against FC Juárez in Ciudad Juárez.
