Great disturbance - IT-issue: No problems at Frankfurt Airport

A global computer glitch is causing problems at airports and other facilities in several countries - at the Frankfurt Airport, it's hardly noticeable during peak tourist season. "Fraport systems at Frankfurt Airport are running," a Fraport spokesperson told the German Press Agency. "It's possible that some airlines are affected. But there are no issues at the moment." According to the spokesperson, US airlines in particular could experience delays due to the issues.

The airline Lufthansa was only slightly affected by the glitch in the morning. However, there could be delays and individual cancellations - mainly due to disruptions at the Berlin Airport.

In Germany, airports in Berlin and Hamburg had to temporarily halt operations. Reports in the media indicated that besides air travel, the operations of banks and hospitals were disrupted in other countries.
