At a collision with the car of a drunk driver, a cyclist was seriously injured near Kruckow (District Vorpommern-Greifswald). The 62-year-old cyclist was riding on the Bundesstraße 110, when he was hit from behind by a car, as the police reported.

The man allegedly landed on the motor hood and ended up in the road ditch. He sustained severe injuries. The 37-year-old car driver had an alcohol level of 0.95 Promille during a breath test. Officers secured his driver's license.

In the same district, Vorpommern-Greifswald, located in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, there have been increasing concerns about traffic safety due to numerous accidents. To address this issue, authorities in Pomerania-Greifswald are considering the installation of Automatic Number Plate Recognition systems along highways to monitor and prevent drunk driving incidents. Despite these measures, the recent collision on Bundesstraße 110 serves as a stark reminder of the importance of traffic safety and responsible driving.
