Public transport - In the summer holidays: S-Bahn Munchen changes schedules
The German Railway uses the Bavarian summer holidays for larger construction sites on the Munich S-Bahn. This results in track closures, individual stop cancellations, and schedule changes, as the railway announced. The work will be bundled because fewer passengers are on the move during the holidays.
Above all, the construction of the new electronic interlocking at Ostbahnhof and construction work on the second main line will affect regular traffic. From late evening on August 14 to early morning on August 19, no trains will run between Isartor and Ostbahnhof. The Ostbahnhof will only be served by Line S2. A bus replacement service will be set up between Isartor and Johanneskirchen.

Further restrictions on the main line will occur on the first two August weekends, as well as from August 30 to September 1, from September 6 to 8, and from September 13 to 19. Construction will mainly take place at night on the outer lines of the S-Bahn. However, according to the railway, there will also be disruptions on lines S1, S3, S4/S6 East, and S7 during the day.
The S-Bahn provides information about the construction work and restrictions in an online compilation.
