weather - In NRW it will be hot - Metecorologists calculate with 34 degrees
The temperatures in NRW are expected to reach a high summer 34 degrees Celsius for the first time this year today - this would be the hottest day of the year so far and the first tropical night could follow. A meteorologist from the German Weather Service in Essen stated this in response to an inquiry.
The night to Sunday is predicted to bring temperatures up to 21 degrees Celsius. The heat sets in along the Rhine riverbank during the day. In the evening, heavy showers are expected to fall. They could lead to local downpours with strong rain, hail, and powerful wind gusts. In some places, up to 40 liters of water per square meter can fall in a short time, as mentioned.
The whole day on Sunday remains cloudy in the country. Local rainfall amounts can reach 30 liters per square meter. The temperatures drop to approximately 27 degrees Celsius. The night to Monday is predicted to be around 13 to 17 degrees Celsius.
Despite the forecast of a hot Sunday with temperatures reaching 27 degrees Celsius, leisure activities in North Rhine-Westphalia may still be enjoyed, as the predicted showers are expected to occur mainly in the evening. However, the following night might be more suitable for indoor activities, as temperatures could drop significantly to around 13 to 17 degrees Celsius.
