A Patient caused a fire in a hospital room in Landsberg am Lech while smoking in bed. The 79-year-old suffered from smoke inhalation and was transferred to another clinic. The police estimate the damage to be around 120,000 Euro.

The fire alarm was triggered on a Tuesday in the patient's room. The fire reportedly broke out in the patient's bed. Fire investigators believe that the fire originated from smoking a cigarette, according to a police spokeswoman.

The fire incident occurred in Upper Bavaria, specifically in the city of Landsberg am Lech. The patient, despite being warned about smoking in bed, ignited the fire due to cigarette smoking. The high damage estimated by the police to the hospital room was approximately 120,000 Euros.
