Crime on Reeperbahn - Homophobic insult and kicking - police are arresting men
Four men on Hamburg's Reeperbahn insulted, assaulted, and kicked three men identified as being homophobic, according to the Hamburg Police. The suspects were arrested shortly afterwards based on numerous witness statements, as the police in Hamburg announced. Preliminary investigations suggest that the four men insulted the three men, aged 21, 23, and 26, and then unexpectedly kicked the 21-year-old in the groin.
When the three wanted to make a statement, the situation escalated and one of the four allegedly hit the 23-year-old multiple times in the head with his fist. Several witnesses alerted the Police, but the perpetrators fled. The suspects aged 18, 19, 20, and 24, who were arrested a short time later, were released due to lack of evidence. The State Protection of the Criminal Investigation Office is investigating.
