Bundesliga - Hoeness about Wirtz: I would like to see him at FC Bayern
President Uli Hoeneß of FC Bayern Munchen would be pleased about a commitment from Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen. "Everyone knows that I would like to see him at Bayern Munchen," said the 72-year-old in Seligenporten. Hoeneß was at Seligenporten for the 75th anniversary celebration of the Bavarian amateur club SV Seligenporten.
After winning the championship and DFB-Pokal with Bayer, there was much speculation about Wirtz's future, despite him still having a contract until 2027 in Leverkusen. "I feel good in Leverkusen, so I'm curious about what will happen in the future," said Wirtz. Last season, Wirtz convinced both at his club and in the German national team, with whom he lost to Spain in the EURO quarterfinals.
No transfer talk currently
There is currently no transfer talk for Wirtz. However, it could be different next year. However, Wirtz is not only high in the ranks at FC Bayern. International top clubs like Real Madrid or FC Barcelona are also said to have great interest in signing Wirtz.
At FC Bayern, Wirtz could form a dream duo with Jamal Musiala (21) in the future. Hoeneß would certainly be fond of this dream combination.
"We've joked around that we might play in the same team someday, but you can't predict that," said Wirtz last month. "We've often said that we'd like to play together, in training and in games. We're both still in our clubs and feel very good there," he assured. Musiala, who was sitting next to Wirtz on the podium at that time, had nothing to add. He still has a contract until mid-2026 with FC Bayern.
Kompany trains at Tegernsee
Currently, the two EURO participants are on vacation. For Musiala's Munich teammates, it goes to the training camp at Tegernsee on Monday, where new trainer Vincent Kompany wants to lay more foundations in the season preparation.
