campaign - Hocke: AfD the only peace option in elections

The Thuringian AfD sees itself as a peace party. There are many ways to choose war, but only one way to choose peace, and that is the AfD, said party and faction leader Bjoern Hoecke at the campaign kickoff in Arnstadt.

The situation is more serious than during the Cuban Crisis in 1962. The war in Ukraine, in which the West bears significant responsibility, must end as soon as possible. "We need a large over-partisan peace movement," said Hoecke. Regarding the Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW), Hoecke said, as soon as the BSW enters a coalition, "the song of the warmongers will be heard."

Regarding Minister President Bodo Ramelow (Linke), Hoecke said, "We can and we will in Brandenburg, Saxony, and Thuringia create a blueprint for a patriotic, bourgeois turn for all of Germany."

"It's time for Bjoern Hoecke"

The AfD's leading candidate in Brandenburg, Hans-Christoph Berndt, emphasized the government competence of the AfD in the East in Arnstadt. "It's time to write history, it's time for Bjoern Hoecke," he said. The Saxon AfD's leading candidate Jörg Urban emphasized that the September state election in Saxony and Thuringia is about a fundamental political realignment. The AfD can make a breakthrough in the East: "The AfD no longer wants to be opposition, we want to govern."

In Saxony and Thuringia, a new state parliament will be elected on September 1st in Brandenburg, and on September 22nd in Brandenburg. In Thuringia, the AfD, which is classified as reliably extremist by the state constitutional protection, has been in the lead in surveys with values around 30 percent for months. Recently, the party has lost some support. Furthermore, the AfD is isolated in Thuringia. None of the currently represented parties in the Landtag would coalition with it.
