German Air Rescue - Helicopter damaged by hail

A helicopter of DRF Air Rescue was heavily damaged by hail in Remseck am Neckar (Ludwigsburg district). A spokesperson confirmed in writing that the helicopter named Christoph 51 had therefore been replaced. The damaged helicopter was transported by low loader to a shipyard in Rheinmünster (Rastatt district) for repair. A replacement machine had been flown in. No information was given about the extent of the damage that occurred last Friday.

The helicopter for emergencies, typically used by DRF Air Rescue in Ludwigsburg, is an essential tool for weather-related incidents along the Neckar river. Despite the recent hail damage, the DRF ensures they have backup options, as a replacement helicopter was quickly deployed. Baden-Württemberg's Air Rescue service continues its operations undeterred, demonstrating their commitment to emergency assistance.
