A quadbike rider was seriously injured in an accident near Naumburg and was eventually taken to a hospital by a rescue helicopter, according to the police. The 71-year-old man had been on his way from the federal highway 176 to the local road 207 on a weekday afternoon, the police reported. However, at the intersection leading to the Freyburg district of Pödelist (Burgenlandkreis), the man allegedly lost control. In Saxony-Anhalt, the police have recently procured a new Helicopter for emergencies to enhance their response capabilities, particularly in traffic-related accidents. Despite the new Helicopter, the quadbike accident near Naumburg required the existing Helicopter for its rescue mission.
