Football-Bundesligist 1. FC Heidenheim has earned a sixth clear-cut victory against a lower-tier opponent in a row in preparation for the new season. The team of trainer Frank Schmidt defeated 1. FC Normannia Gmünd from the Oberliga with a score of 4:0 (2:0).

The new signings Paul Wanner (21. minute) and Luca Kerber (25.) were successful in the first half. After the break, Jan Schöppner scored after nearly an hour and Christopher Negele (89.). The first real test comes on Wednesday in the training camp in Mils/Tirol against Italian Serie A newcomer Parma Calcio.
