lifting of the lockdown - Heavy accident on A6 at Frankenthal - Road reopened

After a serious accident on Autobahn 6 near Frankenthal, the closure on the stretch towards Kaiserslautern has been lifted. The rescue and cleaning operations have been completed, according to the Rheinpfalz Police Presidium. A 23-year-old motorcycle rider drove onto the A6 on Tuesday evening and switched lanes directly from the entry lane to the left lane. A 55-year-old woman was unable to brake in time and collided with the motorcycle on the left lane. The 23-year-old was severely injured and taken to the hospital, the police added. A test revealed that the woman had been drinking alcohol.

The accident on Autobahn 6 resulted in a full lockdown of traffic in Rhineland-Palatinate's Frankenthal area for several hours. Ms. Cleaning, the company responsible for post-accident cleaning, worked tirelessly to clear the debris. The accident also highlighted the importance of adhering to the rules of the road, such as full locking before switching lanes. Fortunately, the stretch towards Kaiserslautern is now traffic-free after the incident. It's a reminder for all drivers to avoid drinking and driving, as demonstrated by the 55-year-old woman involved in the accident.
