The German Weather Service (DWD) has predicted heat and thunderstorms for the north. There is also local danger of showers with heavy rain, according to the DWD. Temperatures reached highs of up to 32 degrees in the southeast of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein, and 23 degrees on Helgoland.
Furthermore, strong thunderstorms and rain are expected before Monday. According to the DWD, the morning will bring easterly showers with temperatures between 20 and 23 degrees. The coast will have moderate westerly wind with occasional gusts.
The predicted thunderstorms may pose a weather danger in portions of Hamburg as well. The DWD issues weather warnings for various areas in Schleswig-Holstein due to potential heavy rain and thunderstorms. Despite the forecasted thunderstorms, Helgoland experienced relatively mild temperatures of 23 degrees.
