Television - Hardy Krüger reveals a secret
Actor Hardy Krüger has given the first details about his role in the RTL series "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten" for the first time. "I play Lars Brunner, Maren's ex-boyfriend," the 56-year-old said in an RTL interview. In the family tree of the soap opera, he is the father of Jonas (Felix van Deventer) and Lilly (Iris Mareike Steen). Maren Seefeld (Eva Mona Rodekirchen) had mentioned her ex, who went to America, several times before. But he had never been seen before.
"They had Jonas and Lilly in the world and were a good, happy couple. As a father, he made a good figure at first, but when he went to America, the contact with his children deteriorated, as he focused on his career," Kruger described the biography of his character. Kruger made his "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten" debut on August 6.
Large differences to his character
There are big differences between himself and Lars Brunner, the actor said. "He is a doctor and I am an actor – that are big differences. He approaches people openly, while I am rather the type who withdraws when I'm not on stage."
But there are also similarities, Kruger said. "If I set something in my head, I give it my all to make it happen. Ambition and discipline are not foreign to us both. The joy of life and lightness appeal to us both, and we laugh at ourselves, which can also lead us into mischief."
"It felt like I had never been anywhere else"
The actor feels at home on the Potsdam set of "GZSZ" in his own words: "It felt like I had never been anywhere else. That may have been because I knew some of the colleagues or had already worked with them on other projects." The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. "We went straight to work without stress and a lot of talk and had our fun. Two months have passed now, and it feels like a loving community that enjoys its work."
"GZSZ" airs Mondays to Fridays at 19.40 on RTL and a week beforehand on RTL+.
