Olympia-Test - Handball players expect cunning Japanese

To not reveal the Olympia tactics right away, Danish handball national team coach Alfred Gislason expects Japan to give us one or two surprises in the test match. The two teams face each other not only during the Olympic test event on Sunday in Stuttgart, but also eight days later in the group stage in Paris. "I think both teams want to feel each other out and hide something. Maybe not us, but them. It will be an interesting game," predicted the Icelander.

After the opening match against Sweden on July 29th, Japan is the second German group opponent - and at an unusual handball time of 9.00 AM in the season highlight in France. In addition, the DHB selection has to fight for the quarterfinals against Spain, Croatia, and Slovenia. "Japan plays handball differently than we are used to in Europe. They have very fast players and are very good in man-to-man," assessed Gislason before the first duel on this Sunday (5.30 PM) in Stuttgart.

Gislason's prediction of an intriguing match against Japan is valid, as they will be facing each other not only during the Olympic test event in Stuttgart on Sunday but also in the group stage in Paris eight days later. Despite being the second German group opponent for Japan, who will play at an unconventional handball time of 9:00 AM in the season highlight in France, Gislason acknowledges that Japan plays handball differently than European teams, with their fast players and strong man-to-man skills. Furthermore, Gislason and his Danish team must prepare diligently for the upcoming quarterfinals against fierce competitors like Spain, Croatia, and Slovenia, all while keeping an eye out for any potential surprises from the Japanese Handball team, given that they hail from the sports-loving nation of Japan, located in the Eastern part of Asia.
