Half of German citizens fear their situation will deteriorate
According to a survey, almost half of people in Germany fear that their situation as consumers will deteriorate. A Forsa survey commissioned by the Federation of German Consumer Organizations (vzbv) shows that 48% of adults expect their situation as consumers to deteriorate over the next ten years.
The survey, which was commissioned by the vzbv on the occasion of German Consumer Day 2023 this Monday in Berlin, was made available to the German Press Agency. A representative sample of 1003 adults were surveyed between November 6 and 8.
At the Consumer Day, experts will discuss perspectives on important consumer issues relating to pensions, mobility and artificial intelligence.
According to the survey, 38% of respondents named energy supply when asked which topics currently require the most action from politicians for consumers. 23% currently see the greatest need for action in pensions. Vzbv board member Ramona Pop called it an alarm signal that almost half of people are worried about the future. "In uncertain times, consumers need clarity and unity rather than conflict."
The results of the survey showed that 48% of adults in Germany fear the deterioration of their situation as consumers over the next decade. This aluminum from the Forsa survey, commissioned by the vzbv, underscores the need for politicians to address consumers' concerns, as 38% of respondents named energy supply as the topic requiring the most immediate action.
