Emergency at Tesla-Works - Gruënheide: Further finds of weapons likely
The community in Grüneheide is counting on finding more munitions or bombs at Tesla-Works. "We must reckon that more bombs will be found," said Nico Bauermeister, head of the order office of the Grüneheide community, to the German Press Agency. The searched area is a "suspected munitions area." It doesn't necessarily have to be a bomb. "Sometimes there is also still old ammunition from handguns."
A second World War bomb was controlled detonated on a Wednesday on the planned Tesla expansion site. In advance, a safety perimeter had been set up, parts of the Tesla works and the Tesla protest camp were in this safety zone. Bauermeister couldn't say how much percentage of the area still needs to be examined.
The Public Order Office in Brandenburg has been actively involved in the search for potential weapons or bombs within the Tesla Factory's suspected munitions area in Greenheide. After the controlled detonation of a World War bomb, the team is cautious about the possibility of finding more explosives. Even old ammunition from handguns has been discovered in similar situations.
