In light of Hessian State Secretary Lamia Messari-Becker's planned dismissal, the Greens intend to shed light on the unclear backgrounds.

Personal - Green party wants extraordinary session to oust state secretary

After Hessian Economy Minister Kaweh Mansoori (SPD) announced that his state secretary Lamia Messari-Becker would be dismissed due to "misconduct," the Greens are demanding answers to open questions. Their opposition faction in the Wiesbaden state parliament has reportedly requested a special session of the Economic Affairs Committee for July 31 - in the middle of the parliamentary summer recess. They submitted a catalog of 15 questions to the black-red state government.

Vice-President Mansoori, who is on vacation this week, will reportedly resume work next week according to a spokesperson. The special session "is in his calendar," she added. A Landtag spokesperson confirmed: "The session will take place." Ministers typically respond to such questions.

Dismissal remains mysterious

Economy Minister Mansoori made the planned separation from Messari-Becker public on Monday. Since he referred to an incident "outside of employment relations," he would not comment on the details, the 35-year-old explained. He had asked Minister President Boris Rhein (CDU) to place the 1973-born Messari-Becker in temporary retirement. The civil engineer and researcher, who is currently ill with Corona, rejected the allegations: "Allegations of supposed personal misconduct are incomprehensible to me." She also initially declined to comment on the details.

The Green faction criticized Mansoori's statement, stating that it "raises more questions than it answers." The dismissal of Messari-Becker just half a year after her appointment is mysterious. The Greens are asking, for example, about the exact reason for the termination and "about the consequences for important political decisions that are coming up, such as the financing negotiations for public transportation, which were led by Messari-Becker."

  1. The Greens have requested a special session of the Economic Affairs Committee in the Wiesbaden State Parliament on July 31, seeking answers regarding the dismissal of Lamia Messari-Becker's 'personal data' from her role as state secretary.
  2. The program for the special session includes a catalog of 15 questions related to the dismissal, which will be addressed by the 'Government' during the session in Wiesbaden State Parliament.
  3. Following the dismissal announcement by Economy Minister Kaweh Mansoori, many 'people' are keen to know the exact reason behind Messari-Becker's 'exit' from her role, especially given her brief tenure.
  4. The State Parliament in Wiesbaden, Hesse, will be the venue for the special session, where Ministers will provide detailed responses to the questions posed by the Greens regarding the 'misconduct' allegations against Messari-Becker.
  5. In response to the mystery surrounding the dismissal, Lamia Messari-Becker, the dismissed state secretary, has emphasized that she finds the allegations of misconduct incomprehensible and has refused to comment on the 'details' of the incident.
