In the investigation of the gold theft at Cologne/Bonn Airport, a man wanted by the public has been identified. Several tips from the population led to this, the Cologne police reported. The suspect is a 49-year-old man from Cologne. The investigators had searched his apartment and that of another suspected 42-year-old from Röhrath, but without finding the loot. Both men were not arrested. The mobile phones should still be evaluated.

The gold granules worth around one million Euro were already stolen from a suitcase at Cologne/Bonn Airport on January 29th and have not reappeared since. In the course of the investigations, an employee of a freight forwarding company is also under suspicion. The 35-year-old's apartment in Kürten had already been searched without result. The investigations into backgrounds, involvement, and whereabouts of the gold are still ongoing according to police reports.

The publicity search for the wanted individual in connection with the gold theft at Cologne/Bonn Airport is being carried out extensively across North Rhine-Westphalia. Despite the police conducting a search at the suspect's apartment in Cologne and another in Röhrath, they were unable to locate the stolen gold granules worth over one million Euro. The determination to solve the case and prevent further criminality at the airport remains unwavering.
