Glider pilot must land in Vogtland

Gliders are considered safe aircraft. However, they require the appropriate weather for a smooth flight. A pilot had luck in misfortune in Vogtland today.

Landing - Glider pilot must land in Vogtland

At the forced landing of a glider near Rodewisch, both occupants remained unharmed. According to the Zwickau Police Department, the 70-year-old pilot had to make an emergency landing due to lacking thermals. The copilot (74) also survived the maneuver unscathed. The glider landed in a wheat field. The damage was estimated to be around 1000 Euros.

The glider's forced landing occurred in the Vogtland region, specifically near Rodewisch. Despite the aircraft's unfortunate incident, both the pilot and the copilot were fortunate to escape unharmed. The incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Zwickau Police Directorate in Saxony. Interested individuals can learn more about such incidents at the Air and Flight Sports association. Sadly, the glider sustained damage worth approximately 1000 Euros, leading to an investigation by the authorities.
