Crime - Girl raped in children's home: Trial begins in February

The trial against a 25-year-old man in the case of the girl who was abused and killed in a children's home in Wunsiedl will begin on February 1, 2024 at the Hof district court. According to a spokesperson, the court has admitted the charges of rape and sexual abuse, among other things, and has set dates until the beginning of March 2024.

An eleven-year-old who is allegedly responsible for the girl's death will not be prosecuted due to his age. The boy is said to have killed the girl during an argument on the same night. He has been called as a witness in the trial.

According to the public prosecutor's office, the 25-year-old allegedly broke into the children's home in Wunsiedel, Upper Franconia, on the night of April 4 this year and raped the ten-year-old girl. The case caused horror far beyond the region.
