Language Competition - German Olympiad: Gold for youths from several countries
The winners of the best German learners have been determined: Youths from Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, and North Macedonia have been awarded in the three language levels, as the organizers announced. For eight days, more than 100 female and male students from around 60 countries competed in Göttingen, Germany, for the titles.
Second and third places went to participants from Mexico, Italy, Slovakia, Poland, and Great Britain. The prize winners are therefore between 14 and 17 years old. They had to complete several tasks – for example, a presentation. In addition to language skills, creativity and team spirit were also evaluated.
The German Olympiad is organized every two years by the Goethe-Institut in a different German city. The first edition was held in 2008.
