Threat with explosives - Funeral director attacks police with a knife

A 21-year-old man attacked police officers with a knife in Euskirchen. They had initially been called to the scene due to significant disturbance at a residential property. Upon arrival, the 21-year-old threatened to commit crimes and was reportedly in possession of Explosives, according to a statement. He then assaulted the officers with a knife. No one was injured. The man surrendered after being warned with a service weapon and was temporarily arrested. According to reports, the police did not find explosives in his apartment.

The motives behind the Threat are still being investigated. To protect neighbors, the entire multi-family house was evacuated during the operation, and the residential street was blocked off.

The investigation is continuing to uncover the reasons behind the potential use of explosives as a threat, given the 21-year-old's alleged possession. Due to the emergency situation in Euskirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia, the evacuation of the surrounding area was necessary to ensure public safety.
