traffic - Full streets for the start of summer vacations

Drivers in the north of Schleswig-Holstein need to be patient at the beginning of the summer holidays. The summer holidays already started on a Wednesday in Hamburg - this is now noticeable on the roads. According to the ADAC traffic information, jams are affecting the A1 and A7 in particular.

In the early afternoon, there were approximately 11 kilometers of traffic jam on the A1 between the interchanges Hamburg-Oejendorf and Hamburg-Harburg, resulting in at least 30 minutes of delay. On the A7, the ADAC reported several large jams. Between the interchanges Hamburg-Südwest and Hamburg-Othmarschen, there were 12 kilometers of traffic jam with a minimum of 49 minutes of delay. Between the interchanges Hamburg-Schnelsen and Hamburg-Bahrenfeld, drivers had to expect about 39 minutes of delay with approximately 6 kilometers of traffic jam. Between the interchanges Warder and Rendsburg/Büdelsdorf, there was also 10 kilometers of traffic jam with a minimum of 31 minutes of delay, according to the ADAC.

Despite the summer vacation starting in Hamburg, causing traffic congestions on the A1 and A7, drivers planning a trip to Schleswig-Holstein should still consider the traffic situation. The ADAC advises that during summer, traffic in Hamburg can be particularly challenging, so it might be beneficial to plan alternative routes or consider traveling during off-peak hours.
