Vacation start and sunniest summer weather: At the beginning of the summer vacations in the northeast and other federal states, thousands of people were drawn to the coast. In Warnemünde, the beaches were also well attended. The 26th International DLRG Cup is still taking place there. Approximately 190 lifeguards from five countries are participating in the three-day competitions on the Baltic Sea coast.
For 161,700 pupils and students in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the summer vacations began on Friday. In Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Berlin, and Brandenburg, it was also said this week: "Back to vacation." Consequently, all federal states except for Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg have started their summer vacations.
