Vacation start and sunniest summer weather: At the beginning of the school vacations in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and other federal states, thousands of people were attracted to the Baltic Sea coast over the weekend. At the beaches, summer temperatures around 30 degrees prevailed. Swimmers found relief in the Baltic Sea with water temperatures of 18 to 19 degrees.
Not only in the well-known bathing resorts on the islands of Rügen, Usedom or Poel did visitors have to search for parking spaces for a long time. In Warnemünde, the 26th International DLRG Cup caused additional crowds. Around 190 lifeguards from five states participated in the three-day competitions at the Baltic Sea beach.
The summer interlude, according to meteorologists, has already come to an end at the beginning of the week for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. They forecast highest temperatures of only 22 to 25 degrees for Monday. Above all, at the coasts, the wind is expected to be quite strong. With partly thundery showers, rain is to be expected.
The changeable weather is expected to continue according to the forecast. To the disappointment of many of the approximately 161,700 pupils and students in the country, who started their summer vacations on Friday, the weather in MV is expected to be better towards the coming weekend.
