Due to falsified Mobile phone contracts, the Berlin Police searched several apartments in Berlin. Since one of the suspects is believed to have contacts to the criminal underworld, the Special Operations Command (SEK) was involved, according to a spokesperson for the Berlin Prosecutor's Office.

The authority is reportedly investigating against four Men. The alleged main suspect is a 35-year-old Berliner who previously worked for an electronics specialist as a promoter for expensive mobile phones.

Approximately 340 cases and over 400,000 Euro damage

As reported by the "B.Z.", the electronics company discovered inconsistencies at some point. The corporation contacted the Berlin authorities. In the course of the investigations, three alleged accomplices came under suspicion. One is also 35 years old, according to the Prosecutor's Office, and the other two are each 31 years old.

The Prosecutor's Office is currently investigating around 340 cases in the period from December 21, 2021, to November 24, 2023. Damages totaled over 400,000 Euro. The Prosecutor's Office is investigating for Credit fraud.

Contracts for virtual customers

The alleged main suspect is said to have used his job for this purpose, closing mobile phone contracts for virtual customers who did not exist in reality. The man is reported to have paid for the expensive mobile phones himself, between 1 and 99 Euro, and kept the devices for himself. The rest of the sum is usually recovered by the corporation from the provider - this did not happen in these cases due to the falsified contracts.

The Searches took place early in the morning in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district and Reinickendorf. No one was arrested according to the Prosecutor's Office. Some mobile phone contracts and two mobile phones were secured, so the spokesperson said.
