Handball-Test-Match - Foxes Berlin win sovereign first practice game

The handball players of Füchse Berlin successfully passed their first test match in the preparation for the new Bundesliga season. On Thursday, the Berliners won clearly against fifth-league team HC Vorpommern-Greifswald with a score of 46:26 (24:13). Top scorers for Berlin in front of 550 spectators were Tim Freihofer with eight and Nils Lichtlein with seven goals.

The Champions League participant from the capital had to do without the three Olympic participants Mathias Gidsel, Lasse Andersson (both Denmark), and Max Darj (Sweden). In addition, the injured duo Paul Drux and Max Beneke were missing.

The Berliners will face another engagement in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern again on Saturday. Then against district league team VfL Blau-Weiß Neukloster (4:30 p.m.). From Monday on, the team of trainer Jaron Siewert will then take part in a six-day training camp in Spreewald.

The Füchse start the new Bundesliga season on September 7 with an away game against ThSV Eisenach.
