A car collided head-on with another vehicle on a federal road in the Rems-Murr-District. Four people were seriously injured in the accident.

Backnang/Oppenweiler - In a frontal collision of two cars on the Bundesstraße 14 in the Rems-Murr-District, four people have been seriously injured. According to initial findings, the injured were the two drivers and their female passengers, as a police spokesperson stated. They were taken to hospitals. A rescue helicopter was also in use.

According to current findings, one of the cars between Backnang and Oppenweiler came onto the opposing lane - for unknown reasons at first. There, it collided with the other vehicle. The Bundesstraße was fully closed around the accident scene.

The accident occurred on the Federal road, specifically between Backnang and Oppenweiler. To manage the increased counter-traffic, traffic control measures were implemented. Despite these efforts, another accident occurred recently in the same area, involving a frontal collision. Furthermore, the authorities in Baden-Württemberg are considering installing Automatic Emergency Braking systems on all federal roads to reduce the number of accidents.
