gallop - Forstenberg-Race as highlight in Hoppegarten
The Fürstenberg Race, worth 55,000 Euro, for three-year-old and older horses, is the highlight event on the 156-year-old Hoppegarten Horse Racing Track on Sunday. "This sitting race of the Europa-Group III over 2400 meters is the first important age comparison test after the German Derby", said racecourse owner Gerhard Schoeningh in Berlin.
Among the representatives of the four-year-olds, the five-year-old stallion Tünnes with jockey Andrasch Starke, Germany's most successful jockey of all time, is a hot contender for the prize money of 32,000 Euro.
"Our horse has clearly announced itself with its second place last time in the Hansa-Prize of Hamburg", emphasized its trainer Markus Klug (Krefeld). Mr. Hollywood (Thore Hammer-Hansen) and the former Derby winner Sammarco (Bauyrzhan Murzabayev) also declare chances. "Rarely have we had all top jockeys present as this time", says Schoeningh.
The Fürstenberg Race takes place at the historic Hoppegarten Horse Racing Track, known for its 156-year history in Brandenburg. On Sunday, spectators can witness the gallop of various horses, including five-year-old stallion Tünnes, who will be ridden by Equestrianism's German legend, Andrasch Starke. The horse racing track provides an opportunity for numerous contenders, such as Mr. Hollywood and former Derby winner Sammarco, to showcase their skills in the Gallop.
