In the Hase river in Emsland, seven people capsized in their kayaks – and were rescued. Five boats had overturned due to strong current, the Police Department Osnabrück reported. Fire department forces rescued all capsized individuals from the water. A child was slightly injured and treated by the ambulance service. The Hase is a tributary of the Ems and a popular canoeing area – for beginners as well as experienced paddlers.

The rescue operation involved the Fire department, who swiftly responded to the incident in Emsland. Despite the leisure activity turning into accidents due to the strong current, everyone involved managed to enjoy their day of canoeing on the Hase, a popular river known for its tranquility in Lower Saxony. The Emsland firefighters successfully rescued all individuals from the turbulent waters of the Ems, a tributary that attracts beginners and experienced paddlers alike.
